A remarkable lady who touched a lot of people and their lives. Eve always sought to give practical help and this is what appealed to her about working with FOGS. We have a lovely picture of Eve giving children tangerines at last year's Christmas event. The joy of this simple task just shines out of her face as she does this! Recognising the need for a place of beauty and nature Eve has also set up, in the last two years, a garden at The Genesis Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital which has received much acclaim. The garden is to be called The Garden of Eve in recognition of what she has done. Yesterday was our monthly Embankment gardening session and Eric and Neil planted a scented pink phlox in a prominent position for Eve not realising Eve had died a little earlier that morning. A poignant planting. We hope those of you who use the station will be able to see and think of Eve when you see this lovely flower.
We send our sincerest condolences to Eve's family and in particular to her niece Karen. We would also like to pay tribute to Eve's remarkable friends - Pauline, Daphne, Paddy and Julie and others who have done so much to support Eve in recent times.
