New Community Historical Information Boards have recently been installed at Glossop, Hadfield and Dinting stations. They are the culmination of a three year project supported and funded by the High Peak and Hope Valley Community Rail Partnership. Inspired by the DfT award of Community Rail status to the Glossop Line in 2013, the content has been created by Neil Williams and Joy Hallsworth at the friends' groups at Glossop and Hadfield stations. Kind permission to use pictures was given by Glossop Heritage Trust and the renowned Woodhead Line author, EM Johnson. The intention is to create a similar board at each of the other nine stations on the Glossop Line and work is well underway with fellow friends' groups and guest writers on Phase Two.

The boards have been designed by Anne Michaelides at www.naturesign design.co.uk whose enthusiasm and attention to detail for the project has been much appreciated!

There will be a formal launch of the boards next month. More details of this event soon.

We do hope you will enjoy viewing them! Joy and Neil would like to thank Andrew Walker at the partnership for his staunch and patient support of the project and to Anne for all her hard work. They would also like to thank Vicky Cropper, Community and Sustainability Manager at Northern for all her help and advice and Simon Brooks Line Manager for his interest and for arranging the installations so speedily! We also appreciate Steve Ford's help at SEMCRP for Phase Two work and funding advice.
