FOGS' next Community Rail event will be a TEDDY BEARS' PICNIC on Saturday 7th July between 11.00 and 13.00 at Glossop Station. The event is being organised with Friends of Broadbottom and Hattersley Stations - our first tripartite event! At each of the stations there will be light refreshments for the children/teddies and activities. At Glossop, Caroline England will present two of her very popular Storytelling sessions in the new Waiting Room and Glossop Model Railway Club will have a working layout. We also hope to have a craft table. Free train travel between the 3 stations from 11.00 to 13.00 has kindly been offered by Northern to teddies, children and one accompanying adult. We thank Theo for his help with this! Posters promoting the event designed by Paul Marsh will soon be on display as will handbills. Seek out the teddies and join us!

FOGS marked the Jubilee weekend with bunting in front of the new ticket office and a picture of the Queen over the old booking office. Neil put some flags in the outside baskets too! Matthew kindly put up two window presentations featuring pictures of Glossop at the start of the Queen's reign contrasting with today's views. These were well received! we have left some bunting up to cover the football and the Olympics - Union Jacks are very popular this year!
